Cape Fear Modern Quilting Guild Meeting Notes:
March 7, 2017
Dianne Brisson
Lois “won” the completed salmon/white/batik squares, I think she got 9 or 10.  That’s great.
A few more blue squares came in for Pam.  Dianne will bring in strips for next month.  Looking forward to seeing some completed quilts soon!

Teal strips were distributed, we decided to use a light gray and 1 other batik for our 12 ½“ squares.

We had a new member join us this month: Susan Wilson.  Welcome.

Election of officers will be coming up in a few months. Think about filling one of the following positions: president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and communications for a year.

Karen got the date mixed up for the newsprint challenge.  But it was good so we all got to see what her interpretation was.  Gave the rest of us some courage.  The challenge is due next month.

The rip it and rip it again challenge started this month too.  Those that participated ended up with several strips of fabric of varying width.  Make a pouch of your choice and fill it with small toiletries to donate.  This challenge is also due next month.

Show and Tell was fun, several people brought in their projects.  Especially liked Terrific T shirt quilt by Lorelei and Laura’s quilt from mis-matched squares.

Next month will start another challenge.  I will bring in enough fabric for several 2 person
swaps.  No prep by the members will be needed!

Next Meeting: April 4, 2017 1:30 p.m. Coastal Sewing
