Despite excited restlessness on the part of Round Robin participants waiting for ‘the big reveal’, the meeting was called to order at 10:00 a.m. on June 18th. We were reminded of the Quilt Expo in Raleigh coming on the following Saturday, as well as the QBTS annual show coming up next weekend on Friday and Saturday (no Sunday opening this year).
Business: A visiting member asked about dues. They are $5 for the remainder of this guild year. We were happy to welcome a new member on the spot! Karen Smith reported a total of $36.28 in our very modest treasury. The group agreed that we should not seek to get a checking account until we have a substantial enough amount in our treasury to justify the expense of an account. An additional question came up about how voting for next year’s officers will be conducted. Can members who must be absent submit an ‘absentee ballot’? Answer to be determined.
THE BIG REVEAL: Ten guild members received completed Round Robin quilt tops, along with one very special eleventh one made for our friend Claudia Smalley, who has been seriously ill. The ‘album’ of photos taken of the Round Robin projects reveals an amazing range of color, technique, taste and creativity. We are all thrilled and inspired to go forward to more projects.

What next?: CFMQG members, tap your creative urges! We are looking for an idea for our next project and also for good ideas for programs for future guild meetings.
Respectfully submitted
Penny Schmitt
Interim Secretary.
