CFMQ Guild Meeting Minutes - May meeting

Minutes from last month’s meeting are on the blog.
Treasurer’s report - will get the next report at June meeting.

Boston MQG - members submitted blocks for the Boston guild to make quilts.  Lynn will mail the quilts to the Boston guild.  Thank you to members who turned in quilt squares.

Spoonflower field trip:  6 members went up to Durham to Spoonflower for a tour.  We toured the facility and saw the process used to create fabric from images and designs sent to Spoonflower.  The group passed out information about Spoonflower with samples of the fabric that they use to print the designs.

Fat Quarter exchange: no exchange today.

Traditional to Modern block challenge: “Basket”:  Laura shared her red and white block.

Self Round Robin (row by row):  Lois shared her star blocks and Penny shared her circles.

Bull’s Eye Quilt group: Lynn and Donna shared their circle quilt in progress.

Guest Speaker: Maggie Earley from Leland.  Maggie shared her beautiful art quilts. She uses photographs for her inspiration. She uses a grid pattern of the photo for the design and tons of different fabric.  You can see Maggie’s work in Wilmington in July at the WHQR radio station.
