Old and New Business:
1 - Spoonflower - Looking at another field trip to Spoonflower and maybe taking a class along with a tour. Will check for dates in October.
2 - Quilting Retreat - Looking at next spring 2014 (maybe March). Will check into the Holden Beach rental house that had an elevator.
3 - Membership for the guild runs from September to September.
4 - Nominating committee. We are looking for 2 people to make up our Nomination committee for our new Officers. Duties include polling members to see if they are interested in serving as a club officers or convincing existing officers to serve another term. Nominating committee will summit roster to the Board at our September meeting.
If you are interested in being on the committee, contact Kathy.
5 - Our guild’s banner is finished and ready to hang in the shop. Looks great. Thanks to all the members who have helped with the banner. We will add information about the date and times of our meeting to the banner.

6 - Summer quilt challenge: 2/3 color challenge. Members to made a Modern piece (table runner, lap quilt, placemats, other). You can use only two color waves (of your choice) + one neutral. Summer challenge project to be shown at our September meeting. Have fun!
Donna shared her blocks (orange/ blue/ white) as an example of the challenge concept.
7 - Membership decided to take the summer off by skipping July and August meetings and meet again in September.
Show and Tell Self Round Robin: Karen shared her purple and yellow quilt.
Traditional made modern blocks (pinwheels): Donna and Mary shared their blocks.
Bull’s Eye Quilts challenge: Kathy, Lynn, Karen and Donna shared their circle quilts. Plans were made to cut and divide the quilts next week.
General Show and Tell: members shared their current projects with the group. See images on our facebook page ==>
Member Spotlight: Karen shared her quilt history with the group. She started quilting in 1980. She also showed doll clothes that she has made. Thanks for sharing your wonderful quilts and stories.
