WOW !!!!!

What a talented group of quilters we had at the Guild meeting on Monday the 21st.  The show and tell sessions(s) were awesome.  I learned so much about using colors and how everyone interprets an ideal quilt/quilted piece.  I continue to be amazed - nice job ladies.

We also grew by SIX new members !  WELCOME to Marybeth Mazur, Sharon Quinlin, Carol Bennett, Lorelei Hauptman, Margie Grant and Pamela Broe.

As a followup to the meeting:

  • The Fat Quarter Swap for February will focus on BATIKS.  Remember .... a fat quarter is 18 x 22 inches.  It will be soooo difficult for me to part with any of my batiks .....  BUT I will get some in return - so all will be right with the world.

  • What's Old is New Again Monthly Block Challenge.  We all know that February is heart month.  Your job - "should you decide to accept" (I just finished watching Mission Impossible III) is to create a modernized heart block.  Any color. Any size.  Any design.  Do not "self-destruct."  Remember your curve techniques from this month.  There will be a viewers choice award for the best rendition - the winner gets a fat quarter.  Be thinking about what pattern to modernize for the month of march - HINT: St Patrick's Day is in March .....

  • For the more experienced quilters in our midst, teams will be forming for a Bull's Eye Creation and Swap based upon Dianna Swim Wessel's Inspiration Odyssey.  Please contact me for  directions as it is quite extensive.

  • After the meeting in February anyone who wants to get to know one another a little better is welcome to go out for lunch.  Dutch treat.  Everyone drives themselves.  Be thinking about where we can gather to sit and talk.

Happy Quilting Everyone.  See you in February ..........
