Next CFMQ Guild Meeting - January 21st

Our next CFMQ  Guild Meeting is at 10am on Monday January 21st @ Sew Happins.

What's Up?

Our Member Spotlight this month will be Kathy Lyman.
If you'd like to do a Member Spotlight at a future meeting, email me right back.  Sign up early as the spots are going fast.

Show & Tell of Challenge Blocks
* The Curves block (if you made one)
* The Improvisational Pieced block using 2 colors (whatever colors you want) and a neutral and using the technique we learned in Sept.  Nows the time to use this technique and make it beautiful.   When selecting your colors, remember that Modern Quilts take advantage of high contract.
Note:  Instructions for these blocks can be found on our blog.   http://cfmqg.blogspot.com/

A discussion and directions for our 2 Self Round-Robins.     One will be targeted for beginners/intermediate quilters and the other will be for the Advanced quilters and there will be teams.

NEW - Traditional to Modern (a block challenge for those interested in participating).   This will be a great one for seeing how to take a traditional block design and add a modern twist to it.

NEW - Fat Quarter Exchange  (note: a Fat Quarter is 18" x 22").    No quilting/sewing required.  If you'd like to participate, bring one novelty Fat Quarter and then you'll get to exchange it for one that someone else brings.    Each month we will have a different theme for the exchange (e.g. Red, Stripes, Batik, Asian, etc.).   If you'd like to bring 2 Fat Quaters, you will get to exchange it for 2 new ones.

Show & Tell.   Don't forget to bring you show and tell projects.

Hope to see you next Monday.
