Lorelei welcomed new member, Linda, and 2 guests to our monthly meeting.
Sept. meeting minutes are on the blog.
Mary talked about the resources on our blog: website links for inspiration. Also Craftsy blog has lots of ideas and inspiration plus on line classes.
Traditional Made Modern: Pumpkin
Lots of variety and creativity with the pumpkin projects: Lois made a smocked pumpkin; Penny made a pumpkin table runner with 3 pumpkins; Mary used texture magic to make a blue pumpkin; Donna made a selvage pumpkin pillow; Lynn made a curved pumpkin square; and Teddy used 2 & 1/2” squares for a scrappy pumpkin square.
Fat quarter exchange: Brown
Charity Quilt Sew- In at our November 18 meeting:
Lorelei explained the directions for the block and supplies to bring to our next meeting.
We will use the blocks made at the meeting for a charity quilt.
She found the quilt block idea on Craftsy website.
Check out the video explaining this quilt block before our next meeting: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlXIO7ZhE8A
** Be sure to pre- cut your 2 fat quarters per directions before the meeting. **
Donna will buy the white fabric from the shop and Lorelei will pre-cut the white fabric before the meeting. We will need to know how many people will be coming so that we have enough white fabric - fat quarters. If you missed the meeting, let Donna or Lorelei know if you plan on participating with the charity project at our next meeting.
Spring Charity sewing project: Linda had a suggestion for our spring charity sewing project: She has lots of “Quilts of Valor” blocks that we could make a quilt or 2 at our next charity sew project in the spring. Other members could also bring blocks to the charity sew in the spring.
